One fix i tried was to use timeline proxy mode but that didn't help at all. I've read a lot of posts about fixes for Davinci Resolve, one thing i did was check if it used my gpu for decoding and sure enough it does. Now i would boil it down to just being because it is encoded to h.264 however i've tried the same clip in premiere pro 2022 and there it runs flawlessly in playback all the way up to 32x/64x where it will only lag a few times but after like 1 sec or 2 it will run smooth again btw i'm using Davinci resolve studio 17 if that wasn't clear Anyway my problem is that i use obs to record and obs more or less only encodes to h.264(which is rather dumb considering that codec is bad for editing in general or so i've heard) and with that my playback in DR is really choppy and laggy no matter the playback speed.
I really like the design of it and it seems really intuitive for beginners compared to other editing programs. So let me start this out by saying i really really wanna use davinci resolve, so much so i went ahead and got the studio version to try and improve playback performance.
